yadā-yadā hi dharmasya glānir bhavati bhārata
abhyutthānam adharmasya tadā ’tmānaṁ sṛjāṁy ahaṁ (IV-7)

IV/7. Whenever there is a decline of righteousness,
O Arjuna, and the rise of unrighteousness, then I
manifest myself.
